6% Pure Retinol Peel is indicated for people with moderate to severe discoloration and normal to resilient skin. This peel provides dramatic and rapid rejuvenation and is appropriate for treating the visible signs of aging, as well as those with sallow or dull complexions. Patients should expect dramatic peeling and sheeting beginning two to three days post-treatment and lasting for up to ten days.

If you love peels, this peel is for you!!!

Day 1:

The skin will feel dry and tight which is normal. The skin may feel hot, feverish and itchy and you may experience some mild discomfort.

Apply Hydrocortisone 1% if needed to reduce redness and irritation.

It is very common for skin to swell through the first night.  This reaction is also normal.  Swelling may occur as the skin’s tissue has been disturbed.  The application of a cool compress the first 24 hours may be helpful.

Day 2:

The skin will look and feel dry and tight, similar to day 1.  In some cases the skin may deepen in color.  Use recommended skincare regimen PCA post peel kit or an Intense Moisturizer such as Elta intense moisturizer, Intense Recovery, or Aquaphor) throughout the day to keep the skin lubricated.  It is critical to avoid the sun and to not to pick or remove excess skin, as this may lead to hyperpigmentation and scarring.

Day 3 – 7:

During this time your skin will gradually begin to slough.  The amount of sloughing varies depending on the professional exfoliation treatment, home care products and skin conditions.

After one week:

The skin may peel lightly again, looking somewhat similar to facial dandruff.  This reaction is normal.  As a remedy to this problem, you may want to have a simple moisturizing facial or reapply moisturizer to skin throughout the day.

After two weeks: A home-care program should be started again.  It should include the use of HQRA, Retin A, AHAs, and/or vitamin C, and most of all, sunscreen.
